Your first consultation

At your first consultation, Dr Gnesin will undertake a facial assessment and develop a personalised treatment plan. From here Dr Gnesin will carefully explain the recommended treatment and answer any questions that you may have. The overall goal of this consultation is to develop a treatment plan that will suit your needs and to make sure that you are informed and comfortable will any treatment that you may decide on.

How long does the treatment take?

Treatment can normally be completed in about 30 minutes, with many people being able to go about their day to day life straight after they walk out of the practice. Immediately after treatment there may be some swelling, redness, tenderness or itching. These side effects are quite normal and tend to ease after a couple of days. On occasion a patient may experience bruising and swelling; applying ice to the area will reduce swelling and help to ease any discomfort.

How long will results take and how long will they last?

Results can be seen immediately and can last anywhere from 6 to 12 months depending on the area treated, choice of filler and how fast the patient’s body absorbs the filler.

Does it hurt?

Dr Gnesin will ensure your lip enhancement procedure is as comfortable as possible and will often use ice and topical anaesthetic to the respective areas, if required. Dr Gnesin will use his knowledge of oral and maxillofacial muscles to create the outcome you desire, combining art and science. Local anaesthetic for fillers is routinely used by Dr Gnesin plus eliminating any pain.

How are lip fillers injected?

The procedure will involve several fine injections to your lips. Additionally, Dr Gnesin may massage your lips and surrounding areas to get the desired shape. Ice may need to be applied post procedure.
